1. Follow steps 1-5 for Layout
B.
2. While in the text menu, unselect Backgrounds (remove the
). Apply.
3. Using the Selection Tool
, click on the
Object button
.
Your object menu should look like this:
4. Choose Banners from the Set box.
5. Choose A from the Objects box.
Hint: Check the Previews box to view
objects in the box to the right of the
Objects box.
6. Choose 10 from the Size box.
Hint: Banners are sized according to length (in inches) and all are 1
1/2 inches tall. Remaining object set sizes refer to height.
7. Click on Apply. A rectangular banner should appear on top of TIGERS.
8. Move the letters apart so they are easier to read. Click on the Text Tool button
.
9. Now click on any of the letters and two handles appear at the bottom center
of the first and last letters.
10.Place the point of the cursor on one of the handles, click and drag the handle to the
right or left.
11.Release the mouse button and the text will stretch or shrink to fit the new line. This
movement equally redistributes the spacing between all the letters.
Hint: To adjust the spacing between individual letters, (also known
as kerning) place the Text Tool
tool between the two
letters you want to adjust. To move the letters apart - click the left
mouse button. To move the letters closer together - click the right mouse
button.
12.Now, move the banner. First select it by using the Selection
Tool
and clicking on the banner. A box appears around the banner.
13.Now click and drag the box to any location on the screen. Release the mouse button and
the banner is repositioned.
Hint: Use the align menu or the dot grid on the screen to align and
position your objects and letters.
14.Position the banner above, below or on top of the letters. Click outside of the
selection box to remove the box from the screen.
15.Center the design by selecting the Green button
.
16.Proceed to Select a stitch and Create a disk.
NOTE: When sewing overlapping pieces of appliqué,
refer to Layers guidelines.
