1. Follow steps 1-7 for Layout A.

2. Using the Selection Tool , select the word TIGERS. (Box should appear around the word.)

3. Choose Arrange from the menu bar and drag down to Ungroup. This allows you to move each layer separately.

4. To create the shadow, first, unselect the word by clicking outside the box; then, select the foreground by clicking on any foreground letter and move the entire layer to the upper left corner of the background layer, matching, where possible, the top and left sides of the letters. Hint: By holding down the shift key while selecting each foreground letter, you will group the foreground layer.

5. Proceed to Select a stitch and Create a disk in this tutorial.
Hint: We recommend using the zig-zag stitch finish for shadow letters.

NOTE: When sewing overlapping pieces of appliqué, refer to Layers guidelines.
