Design H & I

1. Follow steps 1-4 for Layout A.
2. Select the Text arc button . (Perpendicular should be unselected.)

3. Select Backgrounds, if desired. Click Apply.

4. TIGERS should appear as in Layout H.

5. For Layout I, repeat the above steps, except select the Perpendicular check box.

6. To add numbers, first, unselect the word by clicking outside the box. Go back to the text menu and type 12 in the text box. Change the size to 4. Select Backgrounds. Leave all other information the same. Click Apply.

7. To change the size of the arc, switch to the Text Tool and click on one of the letters. Three “handles” appear along the bottom of the word: one on each end and one in the center. Position the point of the cursor in the center “handle,” click and drag it up to the top of the screen. Notice how the arc becomes more shallow. If you drag the center handle to the bottom of the screen, the arc becomes tighter. Hint: The arc radius (in inches) is displayed at the bottom left of the screen; handy information when you want to duplicate an arc layout.

Now grab one of the end “handles” and stretch or contract the arc. This movement equally redistributes the spacing between the letters. Hint: To adjust the spacing between individual letters, place the cursor between the two letters you want to adjust. To move the letters apart - click the left mouse button. To move the letters closer together - click the right mouse button.

8. When you have completed your spacing adjustments (which also works on numbers and Greek letters), switch back to your Selection Tool , select TIGERS and move it into position over the number “12.”

9. Center the design by selecting the Green button .

10.Proceed to Select a Stitch and Create a Disk in this tutorial.
